Compliance Manager - Remote


MAPS PBC is pioneering a new form of mental health care, beginning with the development of MDMA-assisted therapy as an FDA-approved treatment for PTSD. MDMA-assisted therapy is a new paradigm in the treatment of mental health, combining a medicine with psychotherapy to address the root causes of PTSD. It has been designated a Breakthrough Therapy by the FDA and the results of our pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial were published in Nature Medicine or profiled on the front page of The New York Times.

Compliance Manager Executive Summary:


The Compliance Manager is responsible for the implementation of MAPS PBC’s Compliance Program, policies, and procedures designed to ensure compliance with all applicable federal laws, regulations and delegation requirements in a legal and ethical manner. This position reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and works collaboratively across the organization to create a culture of compliance awareness by identifying risks and gaps and building training modules around best practices.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage Compliance Program: working directly with the Chief Compliance Officer and key stakeholders, implement program policy, ongoing program management and continued improvements on compliance best practices.


  • Assist in the Development of the Data Protection Program: manage a data protection program to ensure organizational and clinical trial data maintains its integrity and confidentially through secure data storage and access. 


  • Build Partnerships: develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors such as vendors who support the compliance program, HCP engagement, compliance hotline and GDPR partners outside U.S. 


  • Support Change Management: bring innovative ideas to change management, develop online training modules and communication of new policies, support inspections and investigations, all to build a culture centered in the ethics of compliance.  



Minimum Requirements

What you bring to the role: 


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, JD preferred 
  • 5 years plus experience working as a compliance professional for a pharmaceutical company 
  • Experience leading data protection / data privacy for a pharmaceutical organization 
  • Compliance and legal background with strong business focus  
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory requirements in the US  
  • Knowledge of Sunshine Act reporting and other government price reporting requirements 
  • Excellent communicator able to persuasively convey both ideas and data verbally and in writing 
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and bringing forward innovative solutions 
  • Comfortable implementing systems/processes to ensure compliance with laws/regulations
