Key therapeutic indications under investigation include MDD, Bipolar Disorder, Substance Use Disorder and OCD. All Gilgamesh programs are entirely new proprietary chemical entities. 


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller in the Finance department who is adept at navigating the unique financial landscape of the biotech industry. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in steering the company's financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and supporting various financial initiatives that propel our mission forward.


Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage all aspects of financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, tax, and treasury functions to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal regulations.

· Spearhead the upgrade of accounting software, ensuring a seamless transition and integration of new systems to support scalability and enhanced financial reporting.

· Oversee and lead the preparation for annual audits compliant with PCAOB standards, ensuring meticulous documentation and accuracy in financial statements.

· Develop and implement robust internal controls and policies to streamline financial processes and ensure financial integrity.

· Manage the company’s budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing strategic insights and forecasts to support business decisions.

· Coordinate and prepare financial reports for quarterly and annual filings, and present these findings to the senior management team and board members.

· Serve as a key financial advisor for the leadership team, contributing to strategic discussions and decisions regarding the company’s financial strategies.

· Support various finance-related initiatives, such as capital structure considerations, investment decisions, and funding strategies, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals.


· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a financial leadership role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

· Extensive experience with GAAP and PCAOB audits, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to publicly traded biotech companies.

· Experience with IPO and public company accounting

· Proven track record of managing financial systems upgrades or implementations, with a keen eye for leveraging technology to improve financial operations.

· Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams and interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

· Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment, and multi-task on various finance initiatives with high attention to detail.
