Job Summary

Numinus is looking for a Marketing Director who will deliver marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation. As Marketing Director you will lead and motivate the teams responsible for defining and driving the promotion of Numinus. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a cohesive experience that drives customer acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation across our online and offline channels. In addition, you will manage, mentor and drive a dynamic team of marketers.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and working cross-functionally, with functions such as product development, clinic operations, practitioner relations and IT, this person will bring their track record of success in consumer, lifestyle and/or health-oriented brands to all marketing activities across channels that include traditional, digital, paid, community, customer journey, content, influencer, brand, partner, affiliate, event, and field. 


Individual Accountabilities:


  • Digital Marketing - Attract new clients, build enduring relationships, and drive conversion through an elevated digital experience.
  • Paid - Reach new and existing clients with targeted content, accelerating brand awareness and driving qualified traffic to clinics and online.
  • Social Media - Build and engage a tribe of followers that support conversion on our social and community platforms, in our clinics, and online.
  • Earned Media - Build extraordinary media relationships to drive brand awareness.
  • Direct to Customer - Engage our subscribers through personalized and relevant content, driving qualified traffic to clinics and online.
  • Special Events - Create events that inspire our clients, excite our staff, and position Numinus as a world-class brand.
  • Community - Build a tribe of brand advocates that engage and inspire our clients.
  • Product Marketing - Position and drive the promotion of Numinus products.


The Day to Day


  • Drive and deliver end-to-end, client-focused, digital & traditional marketing strategies to accelerate growth, creating client loyalty through relevant content and initiatives.
  • Own and drive the customer journey. Develop and implement the most appropriate course of action to meet client needs, while driving growth and loyalty.
  • Community: develop, drive, and deliver the Numinus community through a membership economy lens. Driving growth through relationships with our clients, creating them as lifelong advocates and users of our programs and products.
  • Social: drive and deliver a world-class social media presence that drives best-in-class brand awareness and community across all platforms.
  • CRM: drive and deliver the Numinus salesforce marketing cloud programs to engage and grow our subscribers through personalized and relevant content, driving qualified traffic to clinics and numinus.com.
  • Performance marketing: drive and deliver all performance marketing initiatives to accelerate growth, across all markets, including, but not limited to search, display, email and paid social
  • Content: drive and deliver engaging content across all Numinus platforms.
  • Gather insights on consumer behaviour and provide strategic recommendations on branding, positioning, demand generation and awareness campaigns.
  • Agencies: drive key agency partners across performance marketing, social, web development, creative to drive brand awareness and growth and establish KPIs and success metrics, holding agencies and internal teams accountable for results.
  • Support clinic operations to drive product and programming experiences online and within clinic locations through a marketing lens.
  • Work cross-functionally with product and operations (and others) teams to lead the day-to-day functions of the department, supporting corporate objectives.
  • Report on and analyze campaign performance and recommend optimization opportunities across all channels.


Department management


Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience.

  • People Management – Lead and advance our people, maximizing their results
  • Technology Management – Set the standard for high-quality data management, ensure current systems are maintained and continuously improved, and identify, evaluate, and drive opportunities to secure future investments in technology
  • Finance Management – Lead the team to proactively maximize the department's financial performance, strategically leading opportunities to drive revenue growth and capitalize on smart spending opportunities
  • Analytics Management – Leverage reporting to identify opportunities, predict future outcomes, and improve the department's and organization's performance

Job requirements


Position Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or related field
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in marketing and brand management
  • Experience in leading and managing large teams and budgets
  • Strong background and proven experience in digital and online marketing strategies – including paid, eCommerce, social media, and mobile.
  • Extensive experience in successfully integrating offline and traditional marketing strategies with emerging digital strategies to create a seamless customer experience across channels.
  • Extensive experience with hands-on technical and tactical execution of online marketing tactics and analytics.
  • Ability to understand changing market dynamics and learn new technologies.
  • Experience in negotiating successful partnerships and contractual agreements.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Strong leadership skills: proven ability to work cross-functionally and within an executive leadership team.
  • Ability to manage at both the strategic and operational level, superior strategic planning and organizational skills with a hands-on execution style.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and delegation capabilities.
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
  • Deep knowledge and appreciation for the psychedelics-assisted space.
