Postdoctoral Fellowship Announcement

The Center for Psychedelic Psychotherapy and Trauma Research (CPPTR) and the Division of Traumatic Stress Studies, joint projects of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx, have an opening for a 2-year postdoctoral clinical research psychologist under the mentorship of Dr. Rachel Yehuda. The postdoctoral fellow will join a well-established research team with active research protocols on psychedelic-assisted therapies for trauma and PTSD, and prevention and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The fellow will have opportunities for training related to diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and neuroendocrinology of PTSD. Primary responsibilities include conducting structured diagnostic assessments for veteran and civilian research participants, as well as assisting with management of research study operations. The applicant will also participate in consensus diagnostic conferences and assist with regulatory and grant related reports. The postdoctoral fellow may have opportunities to conduct data analysis and assist with manuscript preparation, and assist with development of research protocols. Research oriented candidates may have access to multiple cross sectional and treatment outcome datasets, and have opportunities to propose and contribute to manuscript development. Clinically oriented candidates will receive supervision for clinical assessments that may be used for licensure.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Clinical training and experience working with PTSD are highly desirable
  • Experience administering structured diagnostic interviews such as the Structured Clinical
  • Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-5) and the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-5
  • (CAPS-5)
  • Strong written and communication skills
