COMPASS Pathways plc is a mental health care company dedicated to accelerating patient access to evidence-based innovation in mental health. Our focus is on improving the lives of those who are suffering with mental health challenges and who are not helped by current treatments. We are pioneering the development of a new model of psilocybin therapy, in which our proprietary formulation of synthetic psilocybin, COMP360, is administered in conjunction with psychological support.


COMP360 has been designated a Breakthrough Therapy by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has received Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) designation in the UK for treatment-resistant depression (TRD). We have completed a phase IIb clinical trial of psilocybin therapy for TRD, in 22 sites across Europe and North America. This was the largest randomised, controlled, double-blind psilocybin therapy clinical trial ever conducted, and our topline data showed a statistically significant (p<0.001) and clinically relevant improvement in depressive symptom severity after three weeks for patients who received a single high dose of COMP360 psilocybin with psychological support. We are also running a phase II clinical trial of COMP360 psilocybin therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). COMPASS is headquartered in London, UK, with offices in New York and San Francisco in the US. Our vision is a world of mental wellbeing.

Location: Hybrid/Home based in London, UK, New York, USA or San Francisco, USA. 

Reports to:  Executive Vice President of AI, Engineering, Technology and Digital Health Research.

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • Set the technology product roadmap encompassing the entire Compass digital products ecosystem
  • Establish and maintain a strong understanding of the market including patients, therapists, physicians, and payers/providers to ensure user centred solutions for the entire patient journey
  • Act as a technology product evangelist by communicating novel products, feature development and overall strategy both within the organization and to external stakeholders
  • Effectively oversee products throughout the entire development life cycle including but not limited to; ideation, research, prototyping, engineering, testing, market launch and post-launch follow-up and improvement
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and test existing and upcoming products while ensuring a quality first culture throughout the entire technology ecosystem. Implement best practices for rapid testing, learning, and continuous innovation
  • Work hand in hand with leaders across the mobile, backend, frontend, and AI development teams to help set strategy and direction, as well as follow through to ensure timely execution and successful product launch
  • Partner with COMPASS clinical, regulatory and quality teams to ensure software products meet all regulatory, data privacy, and FDA/EMA requirements while also integrating these products into ongoing COMPASS clinical trials
  • Develop strategy in partnership with the commercial and clinical care innovation teams as COMPASS prepares to provide care for treatment resistant depression patients with COMP360 therapy on the market
  • Train, coach, mentor and grow the product and design teams


  • Senior product management leader with extensive experience. Strong preference for experience in health-tech and/or biotech fields
  • Deep knowledge of modern AI and software engineering practices. Prior hands-on engineering or AI experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with highly regulated environments and comfortable engaging with legal, regulatory and quality teams and approval processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. Prior experience communicating strategy and direction to investors, senior healthcare executives and board members is a strong plus
  • Creative thinker able to create a vision, execute on the technology product roadmap and ensure technology products synergize with broader COMPASS healthcare strategy
  • Ability to operate independently as well as lead cross-functional teams under uncertainty in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced growth-oriented environment
  • Experienced in leading product and technical teams. Demonstrated prior people and team management experience
  • Strong alignment with core company mission and values
  • Strong empathy and collaborative spirit
  • Ability to work in the US (preferably EDT/EST)
