Independent Contract Position: Operations & Communications Manager

In 2024, Unlimited Sciences launched the world’s first Info Line for psychedelic education. The Psychedelic Info Line is a toll-free evidence-based education line for safe pre-use psychedelic exploration. With the primary goal of improving outcomes and reducing harm by offering comprehensive information on natural psychedelics, the Psychedelic Info Line navigators share knowledge from an extensive research library of peer-reviewed studies with data sourced from thousands of participants worldwide, including the world’s largest naturalistic psilocybin study sponsored and conducted by Unlimited Sciences. Serving as a critical resource that no other organization provides, the Psychedelic Info Line offers informed answers to help people with their inquiries and make decisions before psychedelic use.
Position Overview:
As the Operations & Communications Manager at Unlimited Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's strategic initiatives and ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will lead efforts in outreach, development and funding, marketing, growth, and overall operational oversight. This multifaceted role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing psychedelic research and education.
Please note: This position is a short-term contract position for a duration of 6 months with the potential to renew depending on budget availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach and Development:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, researchers, policymakers, and community organizations. Lead outreach efforts to expand the organization's network and enhance collaboration opportunities with a focus on growth and expansion of the Unlimited Sciences Psychedelic Info Line. Develop and implement strategies to secure funding through grants, donations, and fundraising initiatives. Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify potential funding sources and develop compelling grant proposals.
- Marketing and Communication:
Develop and execute marketing strategies to raise awareness of the organization's mission, programs, and initiatives. Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including website content, social media posts, newsletters, and press releases. Coordinate public relations efforts to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation within the psychedelic research and education community.
- Growth Strategy:
Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to develop and implement growth strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals. Identify opportunities for expansion and innovation in programmatic offerings, partnerships, and outreach efforts. Analyze market trends and research developments to inform strategic decision-making and adapt strategies as needed.
- Operational Oversight:
Assist the Executive Director in ensuring efficient and effective operation of all organizational activities. Oversee administrative functions, including budgeting, financial management, human resources, and compliance. Collaborate with program managers and team members to streamline processes, optimize resources, and maximize impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit or start-up management, operations, or related fields, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of psychedelic research, education, and advocacy landscape, with a passion for advancing these fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative growth strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, outreach, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
Compensation:
This is a 6-month part-time contract for $3,000.00 / per month based on 20 hours per week.
