Departmental Overview


The BCSP is a philanthropically funded center aiming to create and share knowledge with the world about the science of psychedelics and their place in society, with three key pillars: Research, training and public education.


Position Summary


Implements policies in support of various projects of a training program. Supports research and other organizational needs. Adapts to changing systems. Assists in policy and program planning, development, administration, management and implementation; interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures and provides consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities


• Provide organizational support for the training program's projects and events, such as planning and organizing, setup and breakdown of weekend immersions, and coordinating student and staff retreats, think tanks and other expert convenings, including site rentals, catering and traveling needs.

• Maintain and implement administrative systems for processing contracts, managing reservations, integrating appropriate technology, sourcing supplies, processing reimbursements, and managing communications with external and internal stakeholders.

• Provide general administrative support for the delivery of the training program, including basic website maintenance, mailing lists, newsletters and other forms of outreach.

• Support efficient and effective internal systems for meetings, schedules, communication processes, and workflows.

• Assist with recruitment and management of the training program's admissions processes, including on-boarding and orientation of professionals as well as undergraduate student workers.

• Provide budget maintenance, reconciliations, reports, and accounting; interface with campus administrators where necessary.


Required Qualifications


• Demonstrated success managing multifaceted, time-sensitive projects.

• Experience working in a university setting.

• Demonstrated success navigating a large bureaucracy.

• Strong writing skills.

• Familiarity with a range of organizational management software.

• Demonstrated success working with a range of working styles and approaches.

• Enjoys working in a highly collaborative and adaptable team environment.

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.


Salary & Benefits


This is a 1yr, 75% (30 hours/week), contract appointment, eligible for UC benefits with the possibility of extension with continued funding. This is a monthly paid, exempt position.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.


The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $70,100.00 - $97,400.00. Rate is at 100%
